mobile.de interface and AutoScout24

This page says exactly what the application does today and what it does not — because this is the place where product pages most often promise too much. Since step 65 the two marketplaces work differently.

Transferring vehicles to mobile.de: direct, in both directions

Once your mobile.de credentials are stored, the application transfers by itself, nightly and on demand: new vehicles, changed ones, and the ones that should be withdrawn. No file is produced for that any more. Without stored credentials it stays with the file.

The part most home-grown solutions forget is the withdrawal: a sold car otherwise stays in the listing until somebody removes it by hand. The application remembers what it once reported, and takes it back out.

And the way back: sold there means sold here

The application also reads your stock back from mobile.de. A vehicle that is no longer listed there, although we had reported it, counts as sold and disappears from your showcase — nobody has to maintain it twice. So that a glitch at the marketplace cannot clear out half your stock, this stops at five vehicles per run; the rest you look at yourself.

What counts as a change

Not every click. What is compared is a fingerprint over the fields that make up the listing — otherwise a dealer reviewing thirty vehicles in the morning reports thirty changes that are not changes. A price change, on the other hand, always goes out.

AutoScout24 interface: still the file

For AutoScout24 the application produces the same sync file as before — new, changed and withdrawn vehicles — and you upload it there. The interface exists, but it requires a contract and an approval we do not have yet. An integration written against an unverified interface is quietly wrong for three years.

As soon as contract and credentials are there, the transfer follows. Nothing changes in your workflow: the same sync logic, just without the step with the file — exactly how mobile.de arrived.

One switch per vehicle

A vehicle without the switch is never touched by the sync — so it is never reported as removed by accident either. The restoration project in the back of the hall stays where it belongs: with you.
